NCAP Volunteer Service Recognition Award
As an organization founded and sustained by volunteers, N-CAP appreciates all those who give freely of their time and talents to improve the quality of life for people in this community and beyond. Community service not only uplifts people in need and improves the environment but positively impacts those who volunteer. Helping others cultivates empathy and selflessness. It fosters a sense of purpose and builds social bonds. Research shows that volunteer activity lessens stress and loneliness and improves one’s sense of wellbeing, regardless of age.
It is especially important for young people to participate in charitable activities and to receive recognition for their work. It encourages resilience and confidence, which strengthens one’s ability to make safe and healthy choices.
The N-CAP Volunteer Service Recognition Award is presented to Niskayuna town or school district residents of any age who have demonstrated outstanding volunteer service and civic participation. It replaces the President’s Volunteer Service Award. Certificates are presented in June and reflect volunteer hours accumulated from April 1 through March 31.
Please submit the 2025-2026 application listing your volunteer hours by March 31, 2026.
